Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain receipts, records, and withdrawals of the storeroom.
- Receive, unload, and shelve stock delivered by suppliers.
- Keep track of products Best Before and Expiry date.
- Rotate stock and issue requisition on a first in first out basis.
- Perform other stock-related duties, including returning, decanting and labeling supplies.
- Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report those to accounting for reimbursements and record keeping.
- Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control.
- Provide weekly inventory reports to management.
- Ensuring that the account department receives the proper invoices, payment acknowledgements and / or receipts from suppliers on a timely basis
- Be responsible for ensuring that no unauthorized people have access to the store and cold-room.
- To ensure cleanliness and food safety practices are respected regarding food items, ingredients, Vegetables and meat storage.
- Create and place orders with suppliers after comparing the best available price on the market.
- Be responsible for purchasing items from markets or supermarkets.
- Keeping a record of prices and communicating significant price changes to management.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Possessing at least a school certificate.
- Possessing a valid character certificate.
- Possessing a motor car driver’s license.
- Experience in a similar job will be an advantage.
- Residing in the vicinity of Pamplemousses
- Adaptative approach to work
- Problem solving skills (Emergency purchases, looking for alternatives)
- Analytical skills (Comparison of price and quality)
- Punctual and regular at work.
- Computer literate
