Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain receipts, records, and withdrawals of the storeroom.
  • Receive, unload, and shelve stock delivered by suppliers.
  • Keep track of products Best Before and Expiry date.
  • Rotate stock and issue requisition on a first in first out basis.
  • Perform other stock-related duties, including returning, decanting and labeling supplies.
  • Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report those to accounting for reimbursements and record keeping.
  • Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control.
  • Provide weekly inventory reports to management.
  • Ensuring that the account department receives the proper invoices, payment acknowledgements and / or receipts from suppliers on a timely basis
  • Be responsible for ensuring that no unauthorized people have access to the store and cold-room.
  • To ensure cleanliness and food safety practices are respected regarding food items, ingredients, Vegetables and meat storage.
  • Create and place orders with suppliers after comparing the best available price on the market.
  • Be responsible for purchasing items from markets or supermarkets.
  • Keeping a record of prices and communicating significant price changes to management.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Possessing at least a school certificate.
  • Possessing a valid character certificate.
  • Possessing a motor car driver’s license.
  • Experience in a similar job will be an advantage.
  • Residing in the vicinity of Pamplemousses
  • Adaptative approach to work
  • Problem solving skills (Emergency purchases, looking for alternatives)
  • Analytical skills (Comparison of price and quality)
  • Punctual and regular at work.
  • Computer literate
