The Survey Field Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing all fieldwork operations for their research projects. This role involves coordinating field teams, ensuring data collection is conducted accurately, and maintaining high-quality standards. The Infield Coordinator will work closely with project managers and researchers to ensure that fieldwork aligns with project goals and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations Management:

  • Plan and coordinate infield operations for research projects, ensuring efficient and timely data collection.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise field interviewers and data collectors.
  • Assign tasks to infield teams based on project requirements and ensure clear communication of objectives.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of field staff to ensure high-quality data collection.
  • Provide logistical support to field teams, including arranging transportation, tools, and materials needed for data collection.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that fieldwork adheres to the research methodology and meets client expectations.

Data Collection Oversight:

  • Ensure that all field data is collected according to specified methodologies (e.g., face-to-face interviews, focus groups, surveys).
  • Address any issues that arise during fieldwork, including non-compliance with data collection protocols or logistical challenges.
  • Work closely with the research team to adjust data collection strategies when necessary.
  • Verify and validate the accuracy and completeness of collected data before it is passed to the research team for analysis.

Project Management & Coordination:

  • Collaborate with project managers to establish fieldwork timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Keep detailed records of field operations, including team assignments, data collection progress, and any challenges encountered.
  • Report on fieldwork status regularly to project managers and provide feedback on team performance and data quality.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and research guidelines during all infield operations.

Client and Stakeholder Interaction:

  • Act as the main point of contact for any field-related inquiries from clients or stakeholders.
  • Provide updates and insights on fieldwork progress to clients when required.
  • Address client concerns regarding data collection procedures and make necessary adjustments to improve field operations.

Maintenance of IT Survey Equipment:

  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of IT equipment used in fieldwork, including tablets and other devices.
  • Conduct regular audits of tablets and other equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Ensure timely repairs and replacements of equipment as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Market Research, Sociology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in fieldwork management or a similar role within market research.
  • Strong understanding of data collection methodologies and fieldwork logistics.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate field teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in data collection tools and software (e.g., tablets, survey apps, etc.).
  • A valid driving license and willingness to travel to field sites as required.
